Stand out to your clients
Our Group Whole Life (GWL) offers a combination of guaranteed benefits1 and added features that set it apart and help deliver short- and long-term value.
A win for them and a win for you
You can offer employers a guaranteed issue, voluntary product that will add to their benefits package without adding to their costs.
Guaranteed death benefit
Provides permanent life insurance protection, ensuring a secure benefit for employees and their families.
Guaranteed level premiums
Premiums are fixed and will not increase, offering long‑term cost security.
Guaranteed cash value accumulation
Certificate cash values grow steadily each year on a guaranteed basis, independent of market performance.
Portability
Coverage can remain in force for life, provided required premiums are paid — even if an employee leaves their job and continues paying the premiums directly.2
Access to cash values
Employees can access cash values built in their certificate through loans, offering flexible financial support when needed.3
Access to living benefits
The Chronic Care Benefit4 and Terminal Illness5 benefit allow the insured to accelerate a portion of their death benefit if they suffer a qualifying chronic illness or receive a terminal diagnosis.
Annual dividends
These can be taken as a cash payout or used to increase certificate value through paid-up additions, which are two of the most popular choices among several options. (Dividends are not guaranteed. Certificate holders are eligible to receive dividends on the second anniversary.)

1 Riders and other features, such as the Chronic Care Benefit, may be available for an additional premium or have a fee when exercised. Availability of these features may be limited based on issue age or state of issue.
2 Portability not available in Alaska and Vermont.
3 Accessing the cash value and/or an acceleration of the death benefit will reduce the certificate’s death benefit, any cash value and any loan values.
4 A Qualified Medical Practitioner must certify that the Insured has a Chronic Illness. Chronically Ill generally means the Insured:
- Is permanently unable to perform, without Substantial Assistance, at least two Activities of Daily Living (eating, toileting, transferring, bathing, dressing, and continence) due to loss of functional capacity; or
- Requires Substantial Supervision to protect the Insured from threats to health or safety due to permanent Severe Cognitive Impairment. If the Chronic Care Benefit has been exercised, the certificate’s premium payments will then be based on the reduced amount of insurance at the current rate. There is no premium required for this benefit, however, there is a fee (referred to as an actuarial discount in some states) if the provision is exercised. The Chronic Care Benefit is not available in Massachusetts.
5 In most states, the Accelerated Death Benefit for Terminal Illness is payable when the insured meets the definition of Terminally Ill, generally diagnosed with an illness that will result in death within 12 months (24 months in some states).
The product and/or certain features may not be available in all states. State variations will apply.
